Status talk possibilities “drained”

Kosovo President Fatmi Sejdiu said that the possibilities of Kosovo status discussions have been drained completely.
“Our approach was constructive, based on international standards, and in some cases more than that.” Sejdiu said, adding that the Kosovo side has faith in UN envoy Martti Ahtisaari, his team and the Contact Group, and that he does not expect need discussions.
On Monday Kosovo Coordination Center President said that Ahtisaari’s status proposal will be a good foundation for new discussions.
Yesterday, Pristina daily Koha Ditore wrote that according to a diplomatic source close to Ahtisaari’s team, there will be no more discussions and that Pristina and Belgrade will have a month to make suggestions after the proposal is giving, adding that the UN resolution on the issue should be adopted some time in March 2007. |
