35% of Firms in Macedonia Hired Employees without Contracts
A check made by the Labor Inspections Service in Macedonia in over 20,000 firms had found that almost 6,000 of the companies checked (30%) had hired employees without making labor contracts, the Macedonian TV channel A1 reports.
Almost half of the employed in the field of construction have not been registered in the respective social services in the state, the check’s results show.
Since the beginning of the year Macedonian firms are obliged to install electronic devices to register the time of arrival and departure of all the employees, and all the employees should be given a document with the overall time they spent working. Firms without such devices will be closed down, the Macedonian Minister of labor and Social Care Stefce Jakimovski stated.
